This 1 day Basic Breastfeeding Basics for Provider course will be held Sunday November 6th in Madison. Full scholarships are available for health-professionals-in-training through a grant from WALC.
Registration is limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, midwives, dentists, and pharmacists as well as students of these professions.
Following the Breastfeeding Champion Training the Participants Will be Able to Meet the Following Objectives:
Identify special properties of human milk that provide immunoregulatory, anti-infective, and
tissue maturation activity.
Recognize history and physical findings that may have a negative impact on lactation.
Describe optimal breastfeeding management of common problems including failure to
latch, sore nipples, inadequate infant growth, and low milk supply.
Explain to a mother how to use her breast pump.
