We have an intriguing line-up of lecturers, including Laura Hernandez, PhD and Samantha Weaver from the University of Wisconsin Department of Animal Sciences sharing what they know from the bench regarding the Feedback Inhibitor of Lactation, role of insulin in milk production, and the effect of SSRI antidepressants on bone density in nursing mothers.
We will also have Patty Smith OTR, IBCLC, share her perspectives on evaluating oromotor and tongue function, the impact of tummy time on feeding skills, and a protocol to help mothers with lymphatic drainage.
Gretchen Becker Crabb, OTR/L, CLC, IMH-E specializes in sensory co-regulation and the fussy infant, and she will help provide us with some tools on how to counsel families who are struggling with fussy breastfeeding infants.
Its a home-grown conference, showcasing Wisconsin experts in the field from the bench to the dyad!
