After the WALC conference we had many requests for Dr Tieraona Low Dog’s recipe for Thyme cough syrup. Below is her recipe.
Thyme Cough Syrup
2 Tbsp dried thyme (or 4 Tbsp fresh)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup water
1/2 cup organic honey
Pour 1 cup near boiling water over thyme and steep for 10 minutes. Strain. Add honey and lemon juice. Refrigerate for up to 1 week. For children 18 months and older – take 1 Tbsp as needed. Totally safe and easy to use. For those who don’t like the flavor of thyme you can substitute fennel seed and prepare the same way simmer the seeds gently on low heat for 15 minutes and then strain.
