We’ve been having trouble with the website recently. You may have noticed you couldn’t access the site and this morning, posts from October and November were sent out as if they were new. Our provider is trying to fix the problem. Please bear with us – we hope it is resolved quickly!

The Brochure for the March 3 & 4, 2016 WALC Breastfeeding Conference is now available on our website. Check out the great speakers and topics. Look under “Conference”. A Brochure will also come by U.S. postal mail at the end of December – watch for it!

We have some great projects in the works in Wisconsin! The following grants have been awarded for 2015.
African American Breastfeeding Network (AABN) was awarded $1,000 for transportation to their meetings.
The Mothers’ Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes was awarded $3,000.
Josephine Nalugo from Uganda received a $300 grant for a project in Uganda to help raise awareness and funds for her work with breastfeeding families.
The Breastfeeding Alliance of Northeast Wisconsin (BFAN) received a grant for $1,350 for use in their Breastfeeding Friendly Childcare Initiative.
If you are interested in a grant for your project, please submit a grant application by May 1st each year (found on WALC site under forms.)

WALC is willing to facilitate group renewal for USLCA this year. Kathie Russell (WALC Treasurer) will collect checks at the November WALC meeting on November 17th or you can mail it to her. ILCA is not offering group registration discounts this year. Make checks out to WALC. If you have questions, Kathie’s contact info is in the member directory. Checks must be received by December 1st.

Congrats to Allison Laverty Montag, our new President-Elect. Allison will serve in this role until she becomes WALC President in May, 2016. Kathie Russell will continue as our treasurer for another two year term. Thanks to all our members who participated in the election.
