Hello friends! Please share this email with your networks, especially those that work in healthcare organizations that serve Indigenous lactating people. Thank you!

Please join us!

If you work in a space that serves Indigenous birthing parents, please join us in a series of conversations with two Indigenous International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), Camie Jae Goldhammer and Kimberly Moore-Salas. Camie (Sisseton-Wahpeton) is based in Seattle and started the Indigenous Lactation Counselor training program as a way to arm Indigenous people with foundational lactation education so that they can provide clinical lactation support in their own communities. Camie facilitates these trainings with her friend, Kim (Diné), who previously worked as an IBCLC in a hospital setting. Together, their years of experience working in communities in lactation support, combined with their Indigenous backgrounds provides a wealth of knowledge and understanding that is transforming how care is provided to Indigenous life givers (birthing parents).

This webinar series is a component of the Nooni Project, a grant funded project developed by PhD student Angie Sanchez, funded by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund and advised by Dr. Sue Grady, Michigan State University. The webinars will be recorded and posted on the Nooni Project website for future viewings. Please contact Angie Sanchez with any questions that you may have.
